De-Mentholised Oil with Terpenes (DMO with Terpenes) is a derivative of cornmint oil (Mentha arvensis) from which menthol has been partially or completely removed, but which retains a significant concentration of other terpenes and essential oil components. This product maintains a balanced profile of minty and herbal aromas due to the presence of various terpenes.

  • Menthol: Typically less than 30%
  • Menthone: 20-40%
  • Isomenthone: 5-15%
  • Neomenthol: 5-10%
  • Menthyl Acetate: 3-10%
  • Limonene: 1-10%
  • 1,8-Cineole: 1-5%
  • Pulegone: ≤ 1%
  • Other Terpenes: Present in varying amounts (e.g., alpha-pinene, beta-pinene, myrcene)

  • Identification: GC-MS Analysis: The chromatogram should show peaks corresponding to menthone, menthol, and other terpenes.
  • Assay: Menthol Content: Typically less than 30% (measured by GC)
  • Physical Tests:
    • Specific Gravity: 0.900 – 0.920
    • Refractive Index: 1.465 – 1.480
    • Optical Rotation: -10° to -30°
  • Purity: Free from adulterants, additives, or contaminants.
  • Acid Value: Should not exceed 3.0
